The fine art of making carpets and rugs has been mastered by our artisans over decades. Ghulam Ali Sheikh has learned this traditional art from his father. The unique handmade and hand knotted carpets with geometrical, floral and pictorial design is expertise of Ghulam Ali Sheikh. He has the mastery over the magic of weaving by using 16 different colored silk threads to create a master piece. He has the skill of tying more than 600 knots per square inch to create the high quality carpets admired by the the world over. The Kashmiri Carpets are India’s pride. This art is passed on from one generation to other; Ghulam Ali still prefers in hand weaving in spite of mechanized process which has come up.
